Backlash

Some of the gains of the disability rights movement of the past twenty years have generated backlash. While it is true that you are probably not achieving any change if you are not encountering any resistance, backlash is painful.

"Make Them Go Away, the Arguments Against Disability Rights", by Mary Johnston, and "Backlash Against the ADA" are two recent books that explore the troubling phenomenon. (both books are available through the Access UVic library.)
